WHAT DOES BEING ‘GOLDEN’ MEAN TO YOU?
IS “DO ONTO OTHERS AS YOU’D HAVE THEM DO ONTO YOU” SOMETHING THAT COMES TO MIND?
WELL, IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.
Firstly, welcome to my world. A world filled with things that help define who I am. What world would it be if I didn’t include my moral stance? It involves being of superior substance.
To Be Golden is aligning one’s self with great quality. Opportunities are endless when you present yourself and work with high standard and passion.
If I was not passionate about what I do, I wouldn’t be writing this for you. I’d just pay to have it done. If I weren’t of high standard, I would not have worked morning, noon and night to ensure that this website was ‘Golden’.
I call this, ‘The Jamaican Dream done with America’s Resources”.
After I graduated from The Queens School in Kingston, Jamaica, I went on to study Healthcare and Marketing in New York. I graduated with Honors-Suma Cum Laude, in
Spring 2011 and went on to working as an international event planner in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
In Fall of 2011, I helped organize an authentic reggae concert in Harare, Zimbabwe which featured Jamaica’s reggae superstar Lutan Fyah.
It was exhilarating and nerve racking being able to plan such an elaborate event at 21. To this day my mentor still reminds me of the perception people had of me. They called me a “beast; the girl who got things done.” What I discovered about myself was my yearn to be proficient with anything that I got involved with.
Going back to my roots in health, in 2015, I organized a Black Tie Gala. It raised awareness for the development of a geriatric health care facility, at the University of Fann Hospital in Dakar, Senegal.
The event was featured in the Jamaican Gleaner; the article concluded:
“As Jamaica is her home, she plans to apply all that she has learnt, to start her mission for honing the welfare of people and the education of children in 2016.”
Well, Happy New Year (2016) everyone. It looks like my mission has begun. I have started “To Be Golden” as a Movement geared at inspiring, motivating and cultivating people in becoming exceptional.
I ask that you sign up to join the journey of ‘Building Something Epic’.
